My kindred

I saw the cutest thing today. The windows in the break room at work overlook the old theater next door. There is some kind of program going on today, as there are tons of school buses parked on the street.

I’m looking out the window and see groups of little kids start coming out of the theater with their teachers. They are all in the rainboots and umbrellas,  holding hands, walking like little ducklings back to their buses. And then I see  my kindred spirits.

The kid who has to break out of the line to twirl around the pole.

The two little girls who go off on their own, still holding hands, and have to be herded back into line by their teacher.

The little girl who is strategically walking, only stepping on certain squares, walking in a pattern that is clear to her. She is holding up the rest of the line, but she pays no mind.

I just kept cracking up.

I do these things all the time.

I really am 6!

B is working on fulfilling one of his lifelong dreams this weekend, learning how to become a scuba diver (which means we will get to do lots of dives on our honeymoon!). He had the car all day yesterday and today, so I’ve had the house all to myself. Add to that, it has been rainy and cold, so the weather was just insisting I stay in my jammies and pillow slippers all weekend! I finished a great book, did some laundry, and put on some live Eva Cassidy and painted. Just about perfect.

We are seeing lots of flowered trees in bloom down here. In our neighborhood, pretty much everyone has these white flower trees, so it looks like you are walking amidt giant cotton balls. I love the flowers and blooms, but I really really want warm weather now!

March has definitely walked like a lion through here lately. I realize the lion’s face is a bit odd, but he is my first lion.

B has requested that I make up our calendars now, as a result of this. I think that is a fun idea!

I’ve been having an art date with myself once a week for the past couple of weeks, it is great. I am loving it, I am having fun creating on a regular basis, and it is very necessary for my overall happiness.

What have you been creating lately? Have you been giving yourself time to play with your inner artist?

Where will your rainbow lead?

A gift of love, grace, happiness, inspiration, play, well being, peace of mind, wellness, love, celebrate yourself, art of life, joy.

Some days I’m your super girl. Her shirt says rock star super star, and the quote next to her says, “If it doesn’t absorb you, if it isn’t any fun, don’t do it.”

And this is very much an outfit I would wear on my super girl days. I think today needs to be a super girl day!

I am a mermaid in need of some magic right now. And all good magic spells should start with some candle light. And this candle is exactly the right one, as it is from a company called Maison (french for house, and as it turns out, I need house magic). The scent is pomegranate and mango, and let me tell you, it is divine. And the color is this lovely, rich red. Swoon.

Why do I need house magic when I just bought a beautiful new house? I need house magic for the rental house that we left. I am on the lease through the end of April, unless they rent it out before that. And I realize I have been sabotaging my own efforts by saying and thinking things like, I feel chained to that house, I feel like my work there is never-ending, it is the move that won’t end. I just mailed in the March rent payment, and have also been saying unproductive things like I don’t think they are going to give us the security deposit back.

No more. I am changing my focus on this. And asking for magic in the process.

Dear Universe,

The rental house came to me at a time when I really needed it, when it was either find a place to live or look at moving out of North Carolina, at least temporarily. This was my first week in the state, after a disastrous first rental house experience here.

Thank you for sending me the house when you did and letting us get in the house so quickly.

For the most part, living there was a good experience. I enjoyed living there, the neighborhood was nice and quiet, it was what I needed at the time.

A lot happened while I lived there, including some major life changes. And it all led to now, to when B and I were able to find this perfect, lovely, amazing home for us and MyraWonderPup. I’ve been here a month and this already feels like home. I am so grateful to be here, and for how the move fell into place.

Now, I need you to release me from the rental house. I no longer need it. I am not chained to it, we walked away freely, to follow an amazing opportunity. We are ready to be financially free from the house. I believe the house will rent quickly now. I believe we won’t have to pay any more rent, and I believe we will get our security deposit returned to us.

Thank you for all the blessings and assistance, with the rental house when we needed it and our new home, when we were ready for it. Now I am asking for your assistance to free us from the house that we no longer need.

The Flying Mermaid.

PS, Universe, you rock in many ways, but a special thank you for the snow day you sent today, it was just what I needed!

I finally got my studio unpacked and set up. I still need more pictures and art in here, but I LOVE It!!!!Eventually, I will paint and have more inspiration in here, but it feels like me now 🙂

My window, with a fairy picture, a picture of Mt. Hood from Oregon, a picture of my Emma cat, candles.

Every studio should have a puppy. And a window with snow falling prettily in the background 🙂

Some fairies from an awesome 2008 calendar, some of my inspiration notes, Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. A-frickin-men!

More fairies and mermaids, Make your dreams out of stardust, I’m not like the girls you’ve known, and a collage with phrases like Awaken to your purpose.
